Extraordinary Prayer - Expecting Great Things

Jacob wanted to be blessed and wrestled God until he received that blessing. Lord, I want your favor, unmerited. You chose Abraham, spoke to him and blessed him, choosing him out of the sheer pleasure of Your mysterious will and for Your name's sake. I do not earn salvation, but instead You chose me, blessing me and sanctifying me. I bless you God, by honoring You and esteeming You in my heart and life. I praise You. " Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name " (Psalm 103:1). Remind me to Bless You Lord, to honor and esteem You, not partially but with my whole being. 

"Speak Spirit of the Lord, your word my tongue. You God speak so I rule justly over men, in the fear of God, like the morning light, like the sun shining on a cloudless morning, like rain making grass sprout from the earth. (2 Samuel 23:2-4)" Help me spread blessing and hope over those I serve, "worth of double honor" (I Timothy 5:17), and not quarrel, but be a peaceable person. You are the "God of peace" (Romans 15:33), bringing peace through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, so that I will live in peace with others (Ephesians 2:14). Help me to have "peace with everyone" (Hebrews 12:14) and seeking to live with the "peaceable" wisdom from above (James 3:17), and stand firm in sharing the "gospel of peace" with anyone and everyone (Ephesians 6:15). O Spirit, cultivate fruit in me of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  

There are certain names that come to mind as enemies of truth, like Richard Dawkins, but even Christians can be an enemy. Lord, help me not be an enemy of truth. I need to listen to the truth and not refuse to accept it. Listening may require humility, repentance and change. Lord, allow your Words to change us and change those around me. Your word applies to us. Let it be. Lord, help my son not treat your word as an enemy but let it continue to confront him and speak to Him. Expose the sin in my life and his. Let it not be hidden. Give me a clear picture always of Your Gospel message. Let me have always a desire to obey Your Word O God.  

God - you have been teaching me about talking to you and praying and sharing with You and getting deeper with You.  Lord, I am hurting.  I am confused.  I am going forward in my faith and walk with You but struggling with others that aren't stepping up and I am struggling with them not getting involved with You and Your people. Lord, are you calling me to get more involved with others? Help me to man-up God.
