Extraordinary Prayer - Expecting Great Things

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 God, thank you that I can always call on your name and you remind me that you want me to pray and you want me to speak to you. As I learn from this verse Lord prayer is not simply about getting things that I ask for you. I tend to be focused on this much of the time - you meeting my wants for things or you rescuing me from hard situations. But prayer and talking to you is also about you revealing to me truth and as this verse says, "great and unsearchable things I do not know." Thank you for wanting a relationship with me and wanting to teach me all about you and who You are, why I am here on this earth now, and what You want me to do. Train me Lord daily to speak to You in this way and ask you to continue to teach me about You and enjoy simply the joy of Your presence. Amen. 

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 Father God, You are the God of Hope, having raised your Son from the dead, bringing me peace now to life and the promise of eternal life tomorrow, the most glorious object of hope possible , adopting me into your family; even as our days are hard and challenging many times with different trials and setbacks - keep transferring your hope over to me so that joy and peace remains in me at all times. Amen.  

  Today's verse: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 Prayer - Thank you God for giving us your spirit, your Holy Spirit to speak to us and help us better understand you and follow you. You are making us to be a people that are not timid for you or back away from showing people who we are in Christ, in our relationship with You. Give us Your power, Your love, and self-discipline each day to follow You. We love you God. Thank you for loving us. In Christ. Amen.

Lord, we speak blessings toward one another when we gather together. The Aaronic benediction is one we voice which says, "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace" ( Numbers 6:24-26 ). This reminds me of my reconciliation and your blessing always God of Your people. You are with us Lord and we have that assurance and ultimately only through faith in You Jesus do I know grace, peace, and God's loving countenance. I am blessed because Jesus was cursed. Jesus loves me. You suffered the unspeakable wrath of God on the cross for me, that by grace through faith I would be fully accepted and the know the Father's smile for eternity. 

Lord, it is true that sometimes I need to remember to be thankful. You command me to be thankful. Remind me daily of specific times or people or events that you have provided. It is okay to be enthusiastic in expressing my joy of the Lord. Focus me on serving You Lord with gladness and ministering to you and others with that Joy. Quicken the church body to service. And specifically ministering to young people. Bring me to joyful singing before you God. Thank you for songs and writers that continue to minister to me with excitement and joy. It amazes me continually songs and their making an impact on my life. Thank you I can come along and sign thankfulness to You. Lord, You are Good. You made us, we are not to redefine what you have made. We are your sheep, needing always you as my shepherd. Lord, you are good, good, so good. Your love is eternal. It never ends. It is continuous. It never dries up and it never causes me to thirst. You are faithful God to all generations and period of t...

    Celebrations are beneficial to our well-being. Thank you for David and his recognizing God's works, God's Word, and way. Your creation declares the Glory of God - it is continuous. The sky continues to reveal the glory of God. And it is abundant - day-to-day pours forth speech. Grass, a snowflake, laws of relativity -- all testify of a mind and an intelligent design. Your message God is universal -- known everywhere. Your works shout to us of You, as creator.      Your Word, Your Law of Jehovah, is perfect. It is all-sufficient. It leads me and feeds me. Your Word is trustworthy and is my reality, making me wise. Your Word is right or straight, making the heart glad. Your word is radiant, purging darkness out of me. Your Word is pure and endures forever. There is no deficiency - It is complete. It is stable. It is reliable and righteous, warning me against sin.      And Lord I celebrate your ways.      Thank You God for buying my wages and purchasing my sin and paying the debt for me. God, you expect me to be sexually pure. I can honor You God through my purity. I honor the covenant of marriage by being pure. And I need to be pure for my own well being. You call me to be a witness to others and my purity is a witness. Remind me how my life is an open book. Keep me aligned with you. God, you want me to be holy and you want me to be in control of my thoughts and actions. Keep me committed to your promise of sexual intimacy. You show me through sex that I am one flesh. Teach me to practice faithfulness to my wife. God, help me to honor you with my body. Thank you for creating me in your image. Help me to be pure in my thoughts. Train me to serve and glorify you with my body. Train me to take care of my body, not for my own sake alone, but also for the benefit of my family. Lord God, you are sovereign and over all in this world. As Daniel implored his friends to seek you specifically in the matter of requesting from You God to not destroy them. I am reminded from this prayer that we can come before You God to ask anything and we can come before You asking You God to rescue those that are in danger of losing their life. And Lord, I often and we often do this, asking You to rescue people in our lives that are bound by an illness or suffering. God you are a God we can trust and You are God one we can implore to bring about rescue in others. Lord, I am to love others; You have loved me, laying your life down for me; I can love other people, all people (John 15:12). You have told me to make petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for all people and that includes all those in authority - my boss, the mayor, the governor, the president; and I make these prayers, petitions and request that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (I Timothy 2:1-2). In my life, in people's lives, in the lives of everyone in our nation, keep Christians united in temper and affection; there are dangers and temptations towards strife often in church people, but keep us far from this (Ephesians 4:3). O God, you are good and your ways our eternal, you grant people to reign in our present lives (Daniel 2:37-38), but ultimately you have an eternal kingdom that will never be destroyed (Daniel 2:44-45). God, it is normal for me and others to read scripture and see certain texts as difficult to read and understand. Keep me humble in this even as others ask questions about texts they struggle with that even I might see as clear. Help me to understand that with some passages it will require study to uncover the truth. As I study, make me able to discern truth, picking the right sources for information and not necessarily whatever comes up in a search window on the internet. Help me to not assume always that all sources have the right intention in understanding passages and are focused on what You want me to understand and what is the truth of those passages. Instead allow me to see that the texts of the Bible can be discerned through other texts of the Bible. I can also consult members of the church who have spent time in school and have that wisdom that I am looking for.
