Sexual Purity

    Thank You God for buying my wages and purchasing my sin and paying the debt for me. God, you expect me to be sexually pure. I can honor You God through my purity. I honor the covenant of marriage by being pure. And I need to be pure for my own well being. You call me to be a witness to others and my purity is a witness. Remind me how my life is an open book. Keep me aligned with you. God, you want me to be holy and you want me to be in control of my thoughts and actions. Keep me committed to your promise of sexual intimacy. You show me through sex that I am one flesh. Teach me to practice faithfulness to my wife. God, help me to honor you with my body. Thank you for creating me in your image. Help me to be pure in my thoughts. Train me to serve and glorify you with my body. Train me to take care of my body, not for my own sake alone, but also for the benefit of my family. Thank you God that you provide a way out for me when I am tempted. Help me to guard my eyes even as I see people in the world - many in outfits that beg me often to look at them sexually or with lustful thoughts or intrigue for their body, desiring them for sometimes even a brief moment. Keep my eyes pure to not look with lust. Lord, the temptation to pornography even on my phone is there. Keep me disciplined to stay away from it. Protect me God from impure thoughts. Keep me far from peer pressure, and others that encourage me to go off course. Help me to be an example, not follower. Help me to have the courage to change channels when impure words or pictures appear on screens. Lord, guard me against using sex or impurity for my well-being. 


    Show me how I can be accountable to others, to be in regular prayer. Keep me focused GOd on your decision for me. Help me to be honest with others. Thank you for people you place in my life that I can confide in and encourage me to be pure. Lord, help me to pray for others and their requests when I hear of them. Thank you for the fellowship I have with others and the good men you have placed in my life. Train me to obey your word and to think about things that honor You. Lord, I want to be honest with you always.

 

    Lord, keep me seeking you. Strengthen me and challenge me to pray with my wife regularly. Train me to know my wife and know what she is comfortable with sexually. Train me to not be overly dependent on my wife. Help me to understand the triggers in my life to sexual promiscuity. Direct me to guidance when necessary. Show me boundaries that I need to have with other females. Give me strength in setting boundaries. Discipline me to monitor my viewing habits. Strengthen me in self-discipline. Train my eyes. Challenge me to always stay connected with You God. Train my thoughts. 

Lord, I seek you. I come to you in prayer which  you taught and challenge me to speak to You. Heal me from the past mistakes I have made. Keep me connected to your words O God. Get impure thoughts out of my head. Train me to apply your words to my life. May I run away from sexual sin. Show me the consequences - how it hurts my relationship with you God, braking my covenant of marriage. Make me responsible. Thank You God for your amazing grace. For forgiving me. I want to be close to You God. I want to be in a deep relationship with You. I want to Honor You God, always in whatever I do, in whatever I say, in whatever I think. In Christ I pray. Amen.

Lord, thank you for speaking to me and helping me see that deep down my desire for people to know Christ is often colliding with my desire for people to like me. Titus 3:1-7 Prayer

I've started something a little different lately and that is as I'm listening to sermons or reading Christian articles, rather than taking notes, I'm turning those notes into prayers. I am patterning this off of John 17 and Jesus (High Priestly) Prayer as he spoke theology in those verses and confirmed truths with the Father while also praying for His disciples and for all believers.  Here is a prayer after reading and studying Titus 3:1-7 Thank you God for your salvation. That we are not saved by our works. But You remind me of my need to do good works. You have set and established rulers over us. You remind me to obey You first and foremost. Lord, make my speech gentle, humble, and be gentle to all people. I am reminded God that I once was foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures. Lord, what a privilege it is each day to grow in my relationship with You because I know each day how prone I am to go a different direction. I struggle Lord daily to seek my own will and think that my life is meant to serve myself. I thank you for the time to reflect on You and all that You have for me. Help me to have my day defined by You and then to know how you are leading me. I feel at times that You speak to me in so many ways. And yet I am not sure that my focus is securely on You, but I thank You that Your spirit is at work in me, speaking to Me and giving me strength and direction each day. Guard my steps. Help me to follow Your guidance so that I find wisdom to serve You in every situation. Keep me humble as I am often not serving You or have that tendency each day. Keep me productive.
